Versailles UMC is honored to take part in a community-wide mission of love by preparing and delivering meals to neighbors in need. On the third Monday of each month, our team joins with others at First Christian Church to cook, serve, and deliver meals throughout the community. It’s a beautiful opportunity to share God’s love through a warm meal and a caring presence.
Blessing Boxes, also known as "Little Free Pantries", provide free food and hygiene items to people in need. The purpose of Blessing Boxes is to help alleviate food insecurity and build community support. The second Sunday of every month is Blessing Box Sunday. There is a container in the foyer where you can place your food donations. If you are unsure what items are needed for Blessing Box, there are pamphlets located on the kiosk.
VUMC provides weekend food for 28 children at Simmons Elementary every week. There are 11 different items in bags for weekend meals. There are 10 people plus JOY Circle active in this ministry who help stock, do inventory, pack and deliver the food.
Diaper Distribution is every 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month, 6:00–7:00 PM.
Jail Ministry: Spending Time Together
We believe past events don’t have the power to define us. Where two or more “gather together in Jesus’ name,” the Holy Spirit is there. Believing in Jesus makes us “Brothers in Christ.” Faith in Jesus Christ offers hope and forgiveness that fosters healing from guilt, depression, shame, and addiction.
